Captive

Bars are evil,
Bears are not,
Bars restrain you,
Unlike a cot.
A cot is made to nurture,
To make a child learn,
Quite unlike these cage bars,
Which make freedom a thing to yearn.
Mistreating animals,
Is a crime in itself,
Why, would you like to be as harmed,
As all animals, themselves.
SLAM! The cage door shuts,
To take away your life,
To make your life as horrible,
As the afterlife.
To be fed on human’s food scraps,
Day in and day out,
With only your one sleeping place,
To let all the feces out.
Eyes as calm as rivers,
Belly as thin as ribbon,
They both sound better than what they are,
When it is only written.
A king kept in captivity,
A truly noble beast,
Will spend its whole life in a cage,
Or ‘till the sun set east.
What has this bear done to you,
To the jailor, I ask,
To free this bear and all other harmless creatures,
Is but one harmless task.
To all the visitors, visitors and visitors,
That pass behind these gates,
Try and make, something, done,
So all animals, can be mates.
