Cassowary

A giant bird,

Featherless neck,

Flightless, can’t fly,

With small wings,

Sharp claws,

Tall and majestic,

A large courageous bird,

Cassowary the forest king,

Feeding on fruit,

Colourful bird with deadly kick,

Jumping high to attack,

Powerful and persistent,

But this mighty bird,

Is fearful of predators,

Dogs and pigs threaten,

Humans attack,

Running fast,

It cries out,

‘Save me,’

‘Protect me.’
