Child’s Best Friend

Nine-year-old in the night
Clung for dear life
Tear-off-your-bark tight
To your trunk, but you didn’t mind
Through seven years you stayed
Leaves as a warm embrace
Saying its okay
You, wouldnt walk away
One fortnight you became five
Five final sticks to fight
the world and say its fine
But, I wish you’d mind
Three seconds dear tree
Till you’re free of me
You won’t miss me
Course, we trashed your beauty
Now we’re all-ones
We’re one and done
Yet to you I run?
Selfish, like we’re mother and son
