Chinese coin so dull and dark
Engraved with little figures so pretty
Small sparks of silver shimmer
A shiny aura floats around it
The beautiful engraved writing
Reminds me of the one who gave me the coin
My Nanny, old and wise, beautiful and kind
The silver and brown fills me with warmth and love
as I think of what’s to come tomorrow
I love this coin with all my being
Its dints caused by the passing of time
Losing it would be like a dart in my heart
Worth so little but I care so much
Other things don’t compare to such beauty
Bulldozer tracks marked the edges
Tiny fence around the top
Feels safe against my fingers
Gripped tight it my hand
Left on my shelf
In my pocket
Where ever it is
It keeps me safe and brings me luck.
