Cocoon poem

It dangles from an elegant tree
The cocoon dangles near the sea
It is as brown as rich dirt
Inside the caterpillar lays unhurt
Suddenly there’s a crack
About the size of a cranberry
Over the few days it gets bigger
On an early morning alone came a digger
And knocked the cocoon down
Into the street of a nearby town
And the cocoon cracked and broke
The newly formed butterfly got a fright
It was a beautiful butterfly
The tips of its wings were the colour of the sky
Its wings fluttered like excited children
And flew away into the big wide world
