Concrete Cat

I have this concrete cat.
He is small like a baby’s boot
and he is grey like a storm cloud filled with rain.
He only has one ear.
The other broke off when I dropped him from the car.
I was only young
and I cried.
And cried.
I begged my mum to go find his ear.
She found it
and with some super glue, glued it back on.
I have this concrete cat.
He is small like a shell on the beach.
He is heavy like the waves that crash along the shore
and he is grey like the ocean on a dark day.
He has two googly eyes
and when I was little,
I would shake him
and watch his pupils roll.
I have a concrete cat.
He is small like the speck on the sun on a cloudy day.
He is heavy like the fog on a misty morning
And he is grey like the moon on a clear night.
He has two googly eyes.
He might not mean much to you
but he means so much to me.
