Damaged Earth

In a world once lush and green,
Now lies a landscape, torn and obscene.
Upon this earth, our careless breed,
Has wreaked havoc, with little heed.
Once vibrant forests, majestic trees,
Now reduced to stumps and debris.
Their silent cries echo through the air,
As nature weeps, in deep despair.
Rivers, once pristine, flowing pure,
Now tainted with toxins, forever obscure.
Creatures that dwelled within their depths,
Slowly vanish, like vanishing breaths.
The sky, once painted with shades of blue,
Now tainted with smog, a poisonous hue.
Birds struggle to soar amidst the haze,
Their melody silenced, lost in the maze.
Mountains stand tall, their strength eroding,
Exploited, ravaged, their riches exploding.
Mining their soul for profit and gain,
Leaving nothing but scars, deep-rooted pain.
Oceans, vast and teeming with life,
A once abundant world, now filled with strife.
Plastic islands, floating in despair,
Marine life trapped, gasping for air.
The damage done, irreparable it seems,
But hope still flickers, within our dreams.
A call to action, to mend the earth,
To restore its beauty, its intrinsic worth.
Let us unite, hand in hand,
To heal our world, to take a stand.
Through sustainable choices, we can revive,
The damaged earth, so it can thrive.
For it is not too late, to change our ways,
To preserve this planet, for future days.
Let nature's voice echo in our hearts,
And be the healing balm that restarts.
Together, we can make a difference profound,
And ensure a greener earth, where life abounds.
Let this be our pledge, our solemn vow,
To protect and cherish, from then until now.
