Dancing of the Animals

I sit still, trying to count the animals running past.
The animals are so fast. Trying to get away from the people. All I see are bright colours from the different surroundings.
I see deer prancing.
In the river I spot fish swimming through the current.
In the distance I see foxes digging,
Possums and birds running along the branch.
“Why have I come?" I ask.
“Why do you think you followed your own steps?”
I can hear the rustling of possums on the branch.
I can feel the soft fur of a koala and the shaggy feathers of a bird.
I stand still trying not to make a sound as I watch the animals prancing, eating and lying down.
I make my way back home, I hear birds singing their last song before bed. Then flying to their nest.
I see deer running into the forest, going to their home, waiting for night to roll over.
I sit still, trying to count the animals running past.
The animals are so fast. Trying to get away from the people. All I see are bright colours from the different surroundings.
