So many days and nights it took for her to find herself
Years of work taken, slow dancing every day
Building herself up to a place of content
Her endless beauty extends further than the eye can see
She cares for all equally, nurturing us like a mother
Her work begins to unravel
Years of give and take wasted at the hands of greed
She is outnumbered and rendered powerless
Stuck watching helplessly as her life turns to rubble
She falls, she cries, she screams
No one hears her cries for help,
Her screams buried under mountains of lies, power and greed
The consequence seemingly unknown to those around her,
And the task too big for those who care
She knows she is broken, but she can be fixed
One day she will find herself again,
Her life returning to her slowly like gasps of stolen air
And she will live in contentment as she once did,
Swaying to the melody she created so long ago
Dancing to her song of peace, love and healing
