Danger to the north of my hairs

I burrow deep into the soil watching waiting
Smoke pollutes the atmosphere
Flames circle around me
Heartbreak strikes
Ashes pour in
Aftershock
Abyss takes over the forest
I am racing against darkness
I plough through the darkness
I have found light just a speck
I sniff, brush my nose hairs against the moist lush green
Hope
Drip splat
It comes in a drop at first
I leap around like a frog as more pours down
I leap through the freshness into peace
I sit gratefully acknowledging my surroundings
The smoke, sadness and sorrow flee away
Happiness replaced
We are at peace
