Dangling Crystal Heart

A love heart the size of a marble,
Yet with more significance behind it than its size.
The colour crystal clear,
The sun light reflecting on the heart leaving a colour of amber behind.

A sentimental piece of jewellery,
Given from my mother,
Both my sister and I received.
One big heart for the older sister,
One small heart for the younger,
A symbol of our friendship,
To be kept forever and always.

The necklace shimmers as the stars do in the night sky,
Shining with colour on one side and clear on the other,
The colour of the crystals are like the crystals that dangle off a chandelier.

As I run my hand over the chain I can feel the bumpy breaks,
The pendant feels like a smoothly shaped rock with sharp edges.
Wrapped around my neck like a snake,
With a pendant hanging off a tree like a monkey,

Shining bright.
