Another tree comes crashing down,

Home after home

gone

There is no more animal town,

They anxiously wait till dawn.

Mother’s holding their young tight,

As it rains branches and trees

Hoping they make it through the night,

Sawdust blows past in a strong breeze.

The sound of another chainsaw starting,

Fills the air,

Fear spreads among the wildlife,

Screams come from a falling tree,

Sounds as sharp as a knife,

All they want to do is be free.

Animals dying everyday,

Just because greedy humans want more land,

Everything can’t always go our way,

All we have to do is understand.
