As I walk through the rainforest,
I see plants all around,
Birds are resting in tall trees,
And bushes all over the ground.

I feel the springtime dew on the plants,
Crunch, crackle as I walk on,
The rich earth smells like fresh rain,
Where the ancestors danced upon.

And then I saw what I was looking for,
A flicker of Royal Ruby Red in a forest of green,
The colour of a newborn baby’s lips,
The most beautiful flower I’ve ever seen

The precious baby Dorrigo Waratah was calling,
Its leaves are stretched out towards me,
Waiting impatiently for a mother’s hug,
Who in the world would disagree?
