Dragonfly's Flutter

Cool calming water rippled by Lilliputian feet. 

Efficient hunting methods swiftly displayed. 

Flutters and sputters fill the foggy air as I

Smell the gorgeous gum trees and feel my feet in squelchy mud.

Reflective shimmers fill my eyes

Sun burning freckles on my pale skin

Fleshy and syrupy tree gum fills my nose

Feet like shooting stars plummeting into unknown places

Midday breezes carry a content feeling with each gust and blow

Sunny patterned imprints carried across my back

A frog-filled pond tickled by the dragonfly’s feet

The breeze tickles my arm hairs into a bristling position

Restive wings on an intriguing mission

Eyes like diamonds overwhelm me

What once was a muddy, mossy pond 

With flutters and sputters and warm sunny days

Now a far, loved dragonfly beyond

A place of heaven and land of praise
