Did you know that trees

have a lifespan? (I did not know this)

– and that the people who planted

trees in public parks did not always

know this:

one

         sad

                  day

the old trees will die

their limbs s t r e t c h e d to the heavens

while the little ones are still c L i M b I n G

without any                                              guidance 

                                                                      or support

for better or worse                                           only clear skies
