Embers of What Once Was

All I recall was ducking, turning, running from eternal rest
Flames crashing in like waves engraved in my memory
The odour of my demise crawling up my nose
Crackling like fireworks
I
Was
Surrounded.
Now as I speak today little colourful sprouts surround me
And I know
Life
Will
Return.
