It was endless
Lost, hopeless
Even just seeing, hurt my eyes,
And hearing? My ears seemed no use

There was a glimmer though
Making its way through the malicious, angel darkness
A bare twisted branch
Gnarled and wrinkled

But it gave a pathway
From the dream I’d wanted but wrongly created
Into the world where I could see her again, my deer

I imagined a foliage of lush mint leaves
Swooping branches dotted with flowers the hues of the sunset
And the finishing touch, the flourish to complete
The deer, the doe i’d seen, been with forever

All I would beg was to see those
Eyes of sapphire
