Frozen in time like an ice cube,
Silent growl tells me I am not alone,
Yellow as dying savannah grasses,
Spots of black as the endless night,
First sighted alone, only companion dust and cobwebs,
Piercing black eyes searching for a friend,
Hand outstretched, offering companionship,
From Op-shop shelf to crowded toy box,
Always taking me to a world of wonderful imagination,
From being relegated to a throw-away bag,
Now loved leader of its coalition.
