When I saw you, I was brought unknown life
Your fur as soft and white as a pillow
I love you though you shall not be my wife
Your small brain is as wise as a willow

When you’re excited you wag your small tail
My eyes light up when I see you always
You bark at the doorbell when there is mail
I will resent the day that we part ways

You are smaller on the inside than out
I am always cleaning up after you
Listening only happens when I shout
You bite and scratch and even tend to chew

You bring me out when I am in a fog
Some might say you are unlike any dog
