Racing through the forest, clambering through the trees,

Running from the branches and the bushes that it’s seized,

The swirling fire remains untamed,

No mercy for the animal claimed,

The koala lumbers, to be safe and sound - at ease.

Surrounded by destruction and ashen ground,

The fire sways and slays animals abound,

Soon the koala is left and lonely,

The flames have destroyed his one and only,

The crackling and burning are the only sound.
