1.
My name rhymes with fire.
Not with chilli, fire trucks, burning oxygen
Not brigade dogs. flaming gas or people trying to get out.
Not flaming rose, not Sydney Swans
Angry bulls or embers to inferno to hot sun
Milky Way rocks
burning up
forming
a small
stone
2.
Fire is
venom burning pain
vampires bringing in the sun
drought ravaged flora, disintegrating in raging
apocalyptic wild fames
lava burning out of volcano, bubbling up, forming astro rock
water tanks exploding like popcorn
top pf the toilet block burning, bricks left
Violet Crumble sign burns: When 2 be Crumb 1
Glass melts like tin foil, sand melts like plastic wrap
3.
I saw a fire flaming
last year at the park,
the prospect of bonfires.
Like in Harry Potter
when Harry, Jenny and the bad guys
put a fire around Weasley’s house.
Sing Fire on Fire by Sam Smith.
Sing Girl of Fire by Melissa.
Sing Fireworks by Katie Perry.
Sing ‘Should the sky be filled
with fire and smoke?”
Smoke light as a Nike bag.
Smoke like cancer.
Smoke is mustang’s running together.
Smoke light as blood.
4.
I see black
I see red
I see blood
Kidneys sting
like a bee
Skin is hot, I use water to put it out
Sting like a thousand wasps
Bull ants attack, heart racing
Lightning bolts of adrenalin
Anger can’t be stopped
Oozing out like fire
Fire like a forcefield
burning inside you
trying to walk back through the ashes
After the fire
everything’s gone
Trees falling down
Crunchy like leaves
Steam, gas, sticks crumbling
The reincarnation of houses and dirt
The ground is nothing
black as a bat, the ground
is blind
Inside, everything sucked away
in currents like an ocean
people washed away
like love
