I see the red,
blazing around
Tears are falling
Down, down down.

Smoky fumes, black like death
Gasping for air, without much breath.
Leaves are drying,
I keep on crying.

I must hold on, for my gum tree is gone.
It destroys anything in its way,
I look for my friends, they’ve gone away.
I cannot winge, for my grey fur will singe.

My ears are burning,
my tummy is churning.
Fluffy fur half gone,
I begin to yawn,

Am I dead? I’m at the vet's instead.
Released at last, it’s now in the past.
A new home emerging and the trees submerging.
Tears rolling down my face, at least I am safe.
