Fly Rosellas Fly

Oh how it would feel to be in the body of a rosella
Flying so high
Oh the feel of the wind on my wings,
Rustling my feathers
My sharp-eyed glance can catch anything,
Whether soaring in close range or at distance,
Preying on anything that would be as food
Then joyfully dancing in the wind
I wake to the morning sun streaming into my nest,
Sinking onto my bright vivid colours
The first thing I do is check for any signs of danger,
making sure all magpies are out of reach
I sail down gracefully onto the ground,
hunting for food until sundown
playing and frolicking with my friends
and one bird in particular
Tropical blue and grass green mixed with hints of berry red
Pure spirited with kind eyes
He is the one I’m looking for
He will accompany me for all the years to come
