Forest

Green trees sway in the gentle wind,
The sun streaming through the canopy top.
Life circulates around the forest
In every hollow log.
The large tree roots course through the ground.
Waterfalls crash noisily into the river below.
Fungi grows on decomposed leaves,
About everywhere else as well.
Some may see a wasteland full of dead life,
No matter how much beauty this place can bring.
But can I see here is where wildlife strives,
And trees can grow to touch the sky,
Where insects dance,
And flowers bloom.
I can see a forest.
