The sand tickles my toes as I take in the salty air
The waves daring me to follow as they fall back in the sea
I dive in, letting the water take me to a calmer place
I can feel the goosebumps forming but I don't care, I am free

Memories came flooding back to when my pops would drag me out
He would look to find the perfect wave, and then let go of me
As I zoomed through the air, avoiding others while riding the wave
With the smile on my face, I only knew one thing, in that moment I was free

The flashback ends as I feel a force crash and pull me down
Submerged in the water is the place I’d rather be
Forgetting my troubles and what's waiting for me above
Without the yelling and fighting around, I am truly and finally free
