My puppy and I were in nature,

trees are touching the sun,

bushes are staying plump

on the soil, dry leaves are crunching.

As I step, the sun is shining

so bright to cover the forest

where my puppy is fetching a stick brown,

soggy and kinda beautiful. There are minty green

leaves surrounding us.

We see a lake streaming down,

to the waterfall light blue, to dark rich navy.

The lake is shining like diamond-white horses galloping.

We see a pademelon jumping up and down,

looking left, right, as it bounces and hops away,

to its tucked away cosy hole.

Jumping in, its tail twitches.

As we walk home saying goodbye.

As we sadly leave the forest my dog barks,

whimpering, “See you tomorrow.”
