From Blossoms to Frost

Spring awakens,
Trees stretch lush emerald arms,
Flowers burst into bloom like colourful confetti,
As grass swells in waves of cool green.
Summer comes, blazing bright like a torch,
Children’s laughter ripples like waves,
Seagulls caw in the salty, sunlit sky
And fields of wheat shimmer beneath the sun’s burning gaze.
Autumn follows,
Leaves blush, rustle and twirl like fiery dancers,
Cool air carries the crisp scent of apples and smoke,
While bonfires crackle and pop in the dusk.
Winter tiptoes in, silent as a soft snowfall
Frost runs its freezing fingers over the land, etching the earth in glass
Trees stand guard, frozen sentinels, their branches heavy with ice
While snow falls, soft and steady, slowly blanketing the earth.
But then, finally, the cold icicles of winter
Melt into the first small shoots of spring
And it all starts
Again.
