Garden

I spend my days reminiscing 

The joy you brought to living 

It's like you planted a garden in my head 

Then left it with nobody to tend 

And now the flowers and plants are withering

Parched and forsaken 

The petals wilting with tangible loss and pain 

I think back to the days before I knew you 

And how empty my life was 

And now I feel the emptiness again today 

I stay by the garden 

Tending and tending

Waiting and waiting 

I miss you more than you would know
