Oblivious to all around it
Lying in a corner, consigned to suppression
Said to bring luck
But it is fleeting luck
Just a reminder of
Rotting friendships.

No longer smooth as it once had been,
Chipped and broken
Destined to perpetually be passed on,
Placed in my hands by
She who is special to me
As we said our final goodbyes.

A shattered surface
Like a rived chandelier,
Once glorious, a magnificent sight,
And then came its fall;
Glinting crystals splayed across the floor
A piece picked up by each hand in which its held,
Fixed, but still barren inside
A broken glass heart.
