Golden Memories

Glistening like a golden morning sunrise,
Lying on my bedside table,
Making me feel loved
When times are rough.
Key to my heart opening cherished memories,
Close but far away she sits,
Metallic links tying me to the other side of the world,
To the one who gifted my memory chain.
Lovely blue eyes hide behind glassed lenses,
Windows to memories that lie within,
Light lemon lips frame white teeth,
Whispering words of advice and encouragement.
My golden chain of childhood memories,
Sunshine of my life,
Clutching around my wrist like a constricting serpent,
My priceless possession giving joy and love.
