Gouldian finches are beautiful in every way,

Just give it a chance

To see their beauty,

Before it fades away.

The pain of losing our nature,

Birds, animals and trees,

From fire, habitat loss and tree cutting.

It brings me to my knees.

Watching their grassland home burn to a crisp,

The screams and smoke in the sky.

They’re gone in a glimpse,

Devastation as you hear their cry.

They eat grass seeds,

If we find a way,

To grow the grass to produce seeds to its peak,

That’s why we say

Grow trees, grass and more,

So we can see more Gouldian Finch.

So they thrive, live and survive,

It’d be our greatest wish.
