It’s like gravity holding me down,
Pulling and pulling, keeping hold of me,
Never releasing me from its grip.

Permanently there,
Holding me tight,
Keeping me close,

Following me everywhere,
Never left behind,
Copying my every move,
Consistently there.

Then it happened,
Left behind,
Forgotten,
Never to be seen again,
Forever lost.

Its service has ended,
General’s time has ended,
Made redundant.

Time to move on,
Find another home,
A place where his services are required.

I have lost my connection
My gravity has disappeared,
Spinning off in space, waiting for my gravity to come and bring me back.

Waiting and waiting for my connection to come.

When will it come?
