In the southwest of Tasmania, where the sun shines bright

There lives a parrot, a colourful sight

With feathers of orange, so vibrant and bold

The orange bellied parrot is a story to be told

Munching seeds and fruits with a beak like a knife

It sounds like it’s having the time of its life

The orange bellied breeds deep in October

As it drops some food to the nest down over

But wait, this parrot faces a grave plight,

For its amount is dwindling, causing great fright.

With climate change threatening its delicate existence,

We must act and show our persistence.
