In the centre of town stands a forest,

an evergreen, quiet, healthy forest.

Darker than darkest is this forest.

At the core of this forest is a gum tree,

an ancient, sweet, blue gum tree.

Happier than the happiest is this gum tree.

The gum tree wakes.

It is a noise she awakes from,

screeching and tumultuous is this noise.

Then light appears through a gap.

While trees among the forest awake from their nap,

as the spirits appear with a deadly smirk,

the clouds turn grey as chainsaws work.

The gumtree falls into the dirt

while the humans grab it,

the wound starts to hurt.

They clutch the trunk with their cold, evil hands.

All the trees must follow the demands.

The gum tree gets sliced as the other trees land,

the aftermath comes as none of them stand.
