Gum Trees

Oh humans,
Why are you always mistreating me,
All I am is a harmless gum tree.
Lofty, tall, beautiful leaves,
When you cut me down I will remember you as thieves.

Oh bush animals,
You’re always scratching my wood with your claws,
You are the most annoying thing, I wish you would pause.
Infuriating, annoying, extremely hurtful,
If you keep scratching me, my bruises will turn purple.

Oh Landscaper,
Have you even noticed all the filthy grass,
One meter taller and it will be at mars.
Towering, tall, covering my branches,
Ten out of ten you will cut it, those are the chances.
