Teens know and see today

the ups and downs that come their way

will be like the moon sinking in the sky,

appearing again the very next day,

To tell a story that’s bright and new, bold beginnings, beckoning hues

Wrapped in a blanket of warmth and protection challenges appear with each new year. Old friends disappear like snow in the summertime, new friends brighten the day like a bird whistling in the swaying trees.

My eyes are open, I’m happy to embrace a new day with friends who surprise, like a gift being unwrapped with excitement and joy.

I’m ready for a challenge, no matter what comes my way,

like a wave rolling to the shore

ending in awe.
