His name is Affe,
The German word for monkey,
His eyes are a dark chocolate brown,
White patches show where fur has fallen out.
His face, hands, feet are all a mustard brown,
The rest of him is a creamy vanilla.
He’s as tall as a ruler
and a half and has a gangly frame,
And his ability to do front flips is amazing.
Soft and slightly like a towel, a little like a carpet
He tastes like felt from his orange jumper.
Swinging from tree to tree as fit as a fiddle,
As happy as a ray of sunlight.
A hug holder and snuggle pot,
Since I was born from my mum to me,
Owned since I was zero.
I keep him where he’s not lonely,
Where he can do serious gymnastics
Though he pretends he can’t.
From my mum to me, his name is Affe.
