Horizontal Falls

Two great big rocks stand towering over the ocean,
The water in between stays only in motion.
Whitewash floods through when the waves get rough,
And with the boats trying to get through, it sometimes gets tough.
Formed 540 million years ago from a major explosion,
The Horizontal Falls has grown in size from erosion.
The fast-flowing water has also helped pull them apart too
Which let the boats get their debut.
If getting up close to the landscape is something you want to do,
And you want to be able to go through,
You can take a tour by boat.
But be careful when staying afloat.
With a ten-metre rise and fall in the tide,
And the gap between the rocks not being very wide,
Many boats have capsized
And the passengers have lost their lives.
Although the water looks nice,
Swimming in it comes at a price.
There are many things that would love to eat you,
Such as salt-water crocodiles, sharks, and box jellyfish too.
