My wings s p r e a d free,
I tumble, turn and feel such glee,
The competition of a lifetime came knocking on the door,
Eyes on me as we transition to floor,
Last pass awaits,
Practised, practised I have,
Yet have not stuck before,
Blood pumping in my ears,
I take a deep breath,
**Thump**
My feet land on the ocean blue floor,
Applause bursts from the audience,
Like the roar of a thousand drums,
Rows of faces on the shore,
Fixed on me,
The greatest women gymnast
Of the world.
