I belong (Gundungurra is my home)

Gundungurra is my home with family 

everyday we see buru (kangaroo) in the sunset

we laugh with the gungunyal (kookaburra) in the trees

watching us

the gula (koala) are just waking from a long nap

there are wumbarrung (black cockatoo) flying in the sky above me 

saying ‘there will be rain soon’

they lead me to a river with heaps of turtles

waving at me 

we try to run with the emus but 

they’re too fast for us.
