I like pears

I like pears, so smooth and round!
Sautéd or poached, I’d eat them by the pound,
Mushy or bruised, I don’t really care,
However they look, I’d eat them anywhere!
I put them in soup,
Or braise them in a group,
I have put them in pumpkin stew,
Or whole, I cook them through.
I eat all types,
Even if they have stripes!
Buerrè Bosc, Corello Forelle, Red Sensation,
Red Anjou, Winter Nelis, William’s bonCretien,
Josephine de Melis or Packham’s Triumph,
I’d eat loads, even if they make me gallumph!
I cut them, and eat slices, one at a time,
Or if I eat them in pairs, it’s equally fine,
Firm or juicy, big or small,
Ripe or mushy, I like them all!
Raw, baked, or soaked in lime,
Really, I find them all sublime.
