Imprisoned in Rock

Splashing, leaping, riding waves,
Smooth, shiny imprisoned friend,
Sedimentary colours against the darkest grey,
Smart, playful dolphin surfing the sea,
Silently still, however, with a lifted spirit,
Slippery like soap yet as hard as rock,
Splashing back memories of loving embrace,
Such a small object holding countless memories –
Table tennis, biking, golf, learning more every time,
Warming my loving heart with grandparent recollections,
Seeing their ageing eyes worry floods my body,
Holding it near the cure is clear,
All I need is a hug and –
My dolphin imprisoned in rock.
