In My Backyard

In my backyard the sun comes streaming  
Chasing the day away
In my backyard you hear lorikeets singing 
And the grass is green from June through to May
In my backyard, the light breeze is fitting
For I find peace amongst the leaves

In my backyard, the grass is lush and green 
It is a place for me to sit and connect easily
In my backyard the sounds are serene 
The birds and the bees sing harmoniously
The flowers bloom together with company
The worms and ants are there to cheer

In my backyard, the trees grow green,
Their branches reach the sky,
Glowing in their luminescent sheen, 
As the birds fly high,
And when I come to stay,
My troubles go away,
