Indescribable: Ode to Rain

Rain.

You’re the one who gives and takes.

You make the flora and fauna flourish,

You fill ponds, puddles and lakes.

I can see the way you make the land breathe,

I can see the happiness of the earth.

I can see a popping of colour: pink, yellow and green.

And when I leave the safety of my home,

After you’ve done what you do best,

I feel, finally, how everything is alive.

I feel the organism that is our world,

Living and breathing,

Oh, how I wish I could write this for you,

For your beauty and your grace,

How the world feels as if…something.

I can’t describe it nor compare it.

The way you change the earth, from empty to full,

From dead to alive, from grey to green

To something unique and beautiful.

To something truly…alive.
