Island of the Komodo

Glowing green trees,

On a beach with a blanket of safety,

Clouds drift lazily across the sky.

Sea, shimmering like a diamond.

Two metres long,

Half a metre tall,

We are the king of lizards,

Komodo-dragons.

50,000 years ago we roamed this land,

Now, no more.
