I rip my scarf off desperately

My body feels more than “warm”

Everyone is sweating in winter

It is the new norm

Another tree dramatically collapses

And it was not from the storm

Another company swings its axe

It is the new norm

I steal a glance at the wonderous sky

When horrid smoke starts to form

I long to peek once more but

It is the new norm

The planet cries in agony

As I ponder in my dorm

No one bats an eye because

It is the new norm
