In the tallest of trees lies me;
Just a small joey on my mother's back
Gobbling down eucalyptus from another sky-high tree
Who am I?
I’m grey at the top and white on the bottom.
Wherever I go I leave a track.
I have long claws for climbing;
I can scratch you with my nail,
I am an arboreal marsupial,
Without an annoying old tail.
I have more in common with wombats than bears,
And live in eucalyptus woodlands and forests.
I’m a koala of course
With big furry ears
Koala numbers are declining, not inclining!
All because our home trees clearing
Now you must be inspired,
All over Australia, we are dearly admired
You don’t want to be the cause of my extinction.
