Koala sitting comfortably in the fork of the Eucalypt tree,

Slowly, sleepily, drifting off to sleep.

The distinct smell of eucalyptus leaves makes it hungry,

Waking to the sounds of the wind whistling through the leaves.

Koala carefully, slowly claws its way down from its safe place,

Thirst, driving it to seek out water.

Wandering, searching across the forest floor,

Slowly dragging its short, stubby legs along as it goes.

Koala finally finds a safe place to drink,

Thirst is finally quenched.

Now hungry as a hibernating bear,

Time to return to its safe place for a bit to eat.

Koala, scampers and claws its way back up the Eucalypt tree,

Reaching the comfort of the fork, its resting place.

The sun beams down onto its silky, soft grey fur,

Asleep, once again, resting until it does it all again soon.
