Upon the swaying gum tree,

the leaves that it provides for me.

The sweet taste of home,

even when I'm all alone.

But that was far before.

My sweet home is no more

a beast too hard to tame.

Lost

to the tongue

of a flame.

My vision blurry

my head a flurry,

as if I'm carrying

the weight of the world.

Too much for just one me.

Such a shame, I was displaced,

I've now ended up in this place.

It'll never be like my swaying home,

but at least this time,

I'm not alone.
