Koala Chaos

The koala yawns as dawn breaks.
Yellows, reds and oranges slither over the sky like snakes.
Phascolarctos cinereus is its name.
Hunting our koalas is not a game.
100,000-500,000 is all we have left.
And I will not stand for this theft.
Out in the great Aussie bush with eucalyptus galore,
It's only going to be 10 years before koalas are no more.
We steal from their homes.
Leaving all dried out, chilled to the bone.
We all agree something must be done.
But we must all stand together as one.
It's our time to stand.
Our time to rise.
There's no point pretending it's all fine.
